Beskrivelse
This lot features an authentic WWII German Third Reich Faithful Service Medal (Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen), 1st Class, awarded for 40 years of civil service. Established in 1938, this decoration was intended to recognize long-term loyalty and dedication to the state. The medal is constructed in the form of a Maltese-style cross with a brilliant gold-washed finish. At its center is a prominent, black-enameled swastika, set against a pebbled background. An oak leaf wreath is intricately integrated between the arms of the cross, symbolizing strength and longevity. The medal is suspended from its original cornflower blue moiré ribbon, which shows characteristic age-related fading to a muted grey-blue tone. The reverse of the medal typically features the inscription "Für treue Dienste" (For Faithful Service). The overall condition is good, exhibiting light surface wear and minor loss to the gilt finish consistent with its age. This piece represents a significant historical artifact for collectors of Third Reich militaria and civil service awards.
